Women in Wales in World War I
In the spring of 2015 Archif Menywod Cymru/Women’s Archive of Wales received a HLF grant to collect and preserve on a website records of the lives of women all over Wales during the First World War. They could be active in nursing, munitions, the services or public services, maintaining a home, living in a hotel, scholars or students or even very small children. Any girl’s or woman’s experience is valid.
The website was launched at the end of 2016, but is continually being added to as new material is found, and there is a contact facility on the site. We currently have records of well over 200 women and girls, with many others waiting to be uploaded. We look forward to your contributions.
