Following the success of the First World War Partnership Days in 2015, Cymru’n Cofio Wales Remembers 1914-1918, led by the Welsh Government, and the First World War Centenary Partnership, led by Imperial War Museums, will be holding a Partnership Day 2016 event at Aberystwyth University on 28 January 2016.

The aim of the event will be to:

  • Provide an overview of national plans to mark the commemoration in 2016
  • Share key opportunities including new resources and the Year of the Film
  • Inspire projects and partnership working for 2016 and beyond
  • Enable participants to gain an overview of centenary activities shaping up across Wales.

Cymru’n Cofio Wales Remembers 1914-1918 and the First World War Centenary Partnership would like to invite organisations and individuals working on First World War Centenary projects in Wales, large or small, to attend the event on 28 January 2016.

To book a place email: with your name, organisation and any dietary requirements or access needs you might have. Places will be allocated on a first come first served basis, with spaces available for 3 delegates per organisation.

10:00:    Registration

10:30 :   Welcome and launch of Cymru’n Cofio Wales Remembers 1914 – 1918’s Programme 2016

11:00 :   Presentations from various organisations working on First World War projects in Wales (further information will be provided at a later date)

12:30 :   Lunch / networking

13:30 :   Group discussions regarding plans and ideas for 2016 commemorative events

14:45 :   Events summary and ‘open mic’ session.

15:00 :   A showing of the film Battle of the Somme (1916)

16:15  :   End

To mark the First World War Centenary, over 3,400 organisations from 57countries have joined the FWW Centenary Partnership, led by Imperial War Museums, and engaged the public in commemorations through thousands of educational activities.
