Newtown will be coming together to remember those that lost their lives in World War I and to commemorate 100 years after the First World War.
10:00pm – Gather outside The Monty Club
10:15pm – Torchlight single drum beat procession down Broad Street, up High Street, and across Back Lane to the Town Hall gates.
There will be a short service led by Samantha Jones from the Salvation Army. The hymns will be accompanied by Newtown Silver Band.
Newtown Remembers the Fallen from the area.
10:50pm – All lights will be extinguished and the Last Post will sound.
11:00pm – A single specially commissioned wreath will be laid by Millie-Grace Williams who is the great, great grand daughter of Harry Morris, a bugler from the Silver Band who served as a Stretcher Bearer in the war.
Lights will be turned back on and we will leave in silence.
